BIRD Cyber Call for Proposals

U.S.-Israel Cybersecurity Initiative

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), and the BIRD Foundation invite entities from the U.S. and Israel to submit funding applications for cybersecurity research and development under the BIRD Cyber program. This program aims to foster collaboration between the U.S. and Israel to strengthen the cyber resilience of both countries.

Topics for the 2024 BIRD Cyber Program:

  • Protection for Legacy Medical Devices
  • BGP Hijacking Remediation (Monitoring and Correcting Traffic Path Issues)
  • Self-Enrollment Based on Face Image, Compliant with International Standards
  • Threat Hunting in Encrypted Traffic
  • Human-Machine (AI) Interface Tools for Cybersecurity

Proposal Requirements:

  • The proposal must involve collaboration between two entities – one from the U.S. and one from Israel.
  • The project should lead to demonstrations and pilot implementations of the developed solution.
  • The maximum conditional grant is $1.5 million per project, not exceeding 50% of the joint R&D budget.
