The Gesher organization and IATI strengthen the bond between the Israeli high-tech industry and the Jewish community in America

May. 1, 2024

The Gesher organization and IATI strengthen the bond between the Israeli high-tech industry and the Jewish community in America.

In light of rising anti-Semitism in the US, the Gesher organization, which works to connect and strengthen the relationship between the State of Israel and world Jewry, and the Israel Advanced Technology Industries Association (IATI), which is the umbrella organization of the Israeli tech industry, travelled to New York on a unique and first-of-its-kind delegation, with the aim of experiencing American Jewish life and getting to know the situation of the local Jewish communities first-hand.

The delegation, led by Gesher’s director of international activities JJ Sussman and IATI CEO Karin Mayer Rubinstein, met with Jewish students who are at the heart of the turmoil and protests on campus, learned about their situation and even brainstormed with them on ways we can be helpful to them. In addition, the group heard from leading voices representing the diverse Jewish community across denominations and met with heads of major organizations.

In addition, the delegation participated in the NASDAQ Opening Bell Ceremony led by the IATI, which represented the resilience of the Israeli high-tech and life sciences industry and the strong relationship between the US industry and the local industry in these challenging days. At the event, the group was joined by Israeli representatives and local Jewish leaders, such as the chairman of Gesher USA Jonathan Tulkoff, the chairman of the Jewish Agency Mark Wilf and others.

This unique venture is an initiative of Adv. Karin Mayer Rubinstein, a Fellow of the Gesher Leadership Institute, and the CEO and President of the Israel Advanced Technology Industries Association (IATI).

Among the high-tech executives who took part in the delegation: Lior Bonfis, President of Philips, Yaakov Michelin, CEO of Biolight, Tami Shahar, CEO of IncrediBuild, Didia Toubia, CEO of Aleph Farms, Miriam Shtilman, Managing Partner of Tal Ventures, Yaky Yanay CEO of Pluri.
