U.S. Visa and Immigration Law: Overcoming New Challenges

Oct. 29, 2014

Entrepreneurs and emerging companies in Israel are facing increasing immigration law challenges. It has become exceedingly difficult to establish, staff and manage new offices in the United States due to obstacles encountered during the immigration process.  Companies that enter the U.S. market are often unable to secure visas for key executives and experts without substantial cost and hassle. Visa issuance can take many months for applicants with specialized scientific or technological backgrounds. This is having a crippling effect on Israeli companies, particularly in areas where Israeli ventures are strong including cyber-security and technology. The American system can provide great reward for emerging companies but not without cost.

Today, more than ever, it is vital that businesses understand the immigration risks associated with expanding a business in the United States.  At the ‘U.S. Visa and Immigration Law Seminar’ experts will tackle these challenges and participate in a solutions-driven panel and Q&A session addressing the latest issues on the immigration and visa horizon. Topics covered will include:

  • Developments in visa processing at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv
  • Solutions for overcoming B-1 visa challenges at U.S. consular posts in Israel
  • Understanding and navigating special administrative processing
  • Immigration risks in planning executive leadership teams for a U.S. office
  • Strategies for extending ’New Office’ L-1 petitions for executives and managers, and specialized knowledge experts
  • Managing immigration related U.S. government ’site visits’
  • The VC perspective on immigration and visa issues
